Innovation Plan Summary
The innovation plan articulates a vision for transforming the organization through a training program incorporating COVA principles (Harapnuik, 2018). To accomplish this, I have created an innovation proposal outlining the benefits of updating our training program and the resources needed. The training program is being developed using a combination of blended learning models. Once fully developed, the training program will be used as a pilot for the highest turnover rate position in the Student Finance team, the Financial Aid Advisor position. Supporting research and data can be found in my literature review. The literature review analyzes blended learning models of the Flipped Classroom and Enriched Virtual Learning and how blended learning impacts employee development and organizations. The implementation plan demonstrates critical thinking in how the training program will be developed, tested, and assessed over an 18-month timeline. The plan for ongoing data collection and feedback shows a comprehensive approach to continuously improving the learning experience for employees. Some of the challenges that may arise during the implementation of the training program will be creating updated content to industry and software changes which will require replacing content originally published. Another challenge will be integrating training material for newly affiliated schools.
This innovative project is just the beginning. As learning and development continues to evolve, I expect to find new innovative ways to enhance an employee’s learning experience. Regularly collecting data and team feedback will drive further innovative changes within my organization. Books and articles will help identify other opportunities for change in educational technology. A few books I plan to review include:

Regularly collecting data and team feedback will drive further innovative changes within my organization. Books and articles will help identify other opportunities for change in educational technology. A few books I plan to review include:
- Teaching for Deeper Learning: Tools to Engage Students in Meaning Making by Jay McTighe and Harvey F. Silver
- How We Learn: The Surprising Truth About When, Where, and Why It Happens by Benedict Carey
- Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dweck
Innovation ProposalOne of our core values at The Community Solution is our ability to produce high quality without unlimited resources. Over the past two years, I have witnessed an outdated training model for the Financial Aid Advising team that does not handle the volume of new employees the company is onboarding at a given time. With our organization’s continued growth, there is an excellent opportunity to improve the quality of our training model using our current resources.

Introduction
As technology continues to develop, training in the workforce has evolved to adapt within changing economies. Incorporating technology in corporate training environments has boasted many benefits to employees and employers. While not all companies incorporate technology in their training the same way, training within a blended learning model has shown to be very effective. This review analyzes blended learning models of the Flipped Classroom and Enriched Virtual Learning and how blended learning impacts employee development and organizations. |
